The political landscape is shaped by those who make their opinions known. This May, participate in ASLA’s biennial Federal & State Legislative Priorities Survey!

Governors in Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Washington declared April to be Landscape Architecture Month, and mayors declared April 26 to be Frederick Law Olmsted Day.

The Uniform Standard will improve the landscape architecture mobility model, provide for increased equity in and access to licensure, improve the defensibility of landscape architecture licensure requirements, and ensure the continued protection of the health, safety, and welfare of the public and the environment.

ASLA worked with FHWA to include landscape architects in discussions to identify policy and design barriers to implementing Complete Streets projects. Many of ASLA's contributions are recognized in the report. As one of the founding members of the National Complete Streets Coalition, ASLA continues its work in moving the needle toward the goal of making all rights-of-way safe for all users.

ASLA applauds the House of Representatives for passing the Build Back Better Act, which will make the largest investment to address the climate crisis in U.S. history.
